Principles of International Management (41040)

The lecture gives an overview of the basic challenges and principles of international management. It introduces culture-specific challenges in the international business environment and the tools with which to overcome them. In particular, the lecture will consider national culture as the cause of differences between nations, theories of international business, strategic management, organizational structure, and human resource management in multinational corporations among others. Customer Centric Innovation in Multinational Organizations (23423)

Innovative problem solving and willingness to strike new paths are essential capabilities for organizations. In this seminar, students will develop creative solutions using the design thinking method. Design thinking is a user-centered innovation technique. Organizations worldwide use it as a method to generate new and useful ideas. The seminar is open for 15 students and provides a series of workshops to learn about Design Thinking. Students will apply the method to a real-world problem. The seminar demands very active participation and strong team collaboration throughout the semester. Participation in all seminar meetings is mandatory.Information about the application procedure will follow.

Current Issues in International Management (21920)

In the seminar “Current Issues in International Management”, Bachelor students will conduct a systematic literature review individually for a given topic in the field of international management. The research seminar is comprised of a written seminar paper and an oral presentation. The active participation and discussion in class are required as well as the interest in international management issues. The seminar equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to write a systematic literature review and aims at preparing for the bachelor thesis colloquium. Participation in all seminar meetings is mandatory.
