Workshop Insights: Upgrading our skills on Qualitative Research Methods
Learning new things and exchanging with others is always a good idea!
Valuable insights that will shape future projects
What research methods are there and how can we make use of them in our research projects?
Our Ph.D. student Toni Müller has recently participated in a VHB workshop for doctoral students in Hamburg. Exchanging with peers and professors from the field, he has deepened his methodological skills and broadened his knowledge on research methods that are to date not as widely used in management research: Qualitative methods.
„Qualitative research methods in business are diverse and can be used in many ways. The workshop provided many valuable insights on how to plan, execute and analyze qualitative research designs. I am planning to dig deeper into some newly discovered methods, such as ethnographies or sequential analysis, and use a qualitative approach in my current and future research projects on digitalization”, says Toni.
Of course, our students will also profit from this new knowledge. Some of our master students will integrate qualitative research methods into their final theses on tech stacks this semester.
