At the same time, we want to provide our students, no matter where they currently reside, with the best learning experience possible. Hence, we are teaching digitally this semester

Digital lectures as a solution for all

All lectures and seminars are being held digitally - synchronous and asynchronous, with engaging forum discussions, enhancing video material, one-on-one online consultations to answer individual questions and much more. Short multiple-choice quizzes deepen the imparted knowledge.

For our Chair, these practices took a lot of work, research and practice as much of digital teaching is new to us. However, we much enjoy this new way of teaching and engaging with our students. In some ways, we feel we have made even more meaningful connections with our students.

Now, we wanted to know how they are experiencing this digital semester. They've let us know through our Student Midterm Survey ST 2020. These are the results.

Students Responses to their Digital Learning Experience

The overall digital learning experience is rated by our students as satisfactory. 74,5% stated they are extremely satisfied with digital classes offered by the Chair of International Management.

This overall satisfaction is also reflected in student's participation. 75% of our students take part in the Chairs live Zoom sessions regularly.

What do our students enjoy most about the Chairs digital offers?
Most appreciated a combination of live sessions (synchronous teaching) and recordings (asynchronous teaching) for lectures and seminars. The possibility to stop and rewatch the recordings of previous live sessions or previously filmed learning videos is especially useful to them. Being able to watch the videos multiple times if necessary is a big plus. Quizzes at the end of every session further consolidate their knowledge. They enjoy their time flexibility that a digital learning experience can offer. Hence, they can optimize their own time management and further strengthen this soft skill. This will help them in their future studies and in the job market.

69% of our students would like for future courses to also be taught digitally. Although, most of them prefer a combination of online and offline teaching.
