Looking at corporate strategy in practice
We recently had some guests in the digital lecture hall again! Franziska Hedrich (HR Manager-Employer Branding), Sven Hansen (Area Sales Manager) and Christa Vlad (Sales Professional) from Hilti AG gave our master students a look behind the scenes of the globally operating tool manufacturer.
The interactive guest lecture focused on Hilti's strategy entitled "Global Champion 2023". Our students rediscovered many familiar concepts such as the Ansoff Matrix, which we had previously covered in the course on "International Corporate Strategy".
Our key takeaways:
- The satisfaction of employees and customers is one of the main pillars of Hilti’s corporate strategy. In order to offer best-tailored solutions to the clients, it is important to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer and to ask the right questions.
- While entering new markets, it is often not enough to achieve the second or third-largest market share. Therefore, the best strategy for long-term and sustainable success is to focus on the most promising areas and take the leading position there.
