“GUERICKE helps!“: OVGU supports Ukrainian students and researchers
We stand with Ukraine.
We are shocked and incredibly saddened by what has been going on in Ukraine in the past weeks. The Chair of International Management stands for an international mindset and a peaceful coexistence, regardless of the differences. Although it is very difficult for us to return to business as usual, we want to continue with what we believe is our mission: encouraging mutual exchange and pursuing research on DE&I, internationalization, and innovation. The current situation shows the importance of diversity, equity & inclusion, and the values rooted in them.
An emergency fund for Ukrainian students and researchers
We would like to express our deepest sympathy with all those affected in Ukraine and especially with our Ukrainian students and alumni, former doctoral students, and visiting scholars. Therefore, we would like to draw attention to the "GUERICKE helps!” emergency fund. The fund was set up during the Corona crisis in a joint action between Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and the Society of Friends and Sponsors of Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg e.V. to alleviate the financial worries of students in need. In light of the current events, the emergency fund is particularly intended to help Ukrainian students and researchers.
The chair fully supports the university's initiative and encourages every donation, no matter how small. The donations are to be used as financial bridging aid or as scholarships for refugee students or visiting academics. We would like to thank all supporters, who contribute to building a financial foundation for Ukrainian students and researchers.
