Guest Lecture with Hilti: Digital transformation in the construction industry
New semester, new exciting guest lectures! This time, our master students had the pleasure to get first-hand insights from Hilti on how businesses make use of digital technologies to transform and extend their product portfolio.
Digitalization in a challenging environment
Digital Transformation is a key topic for companies right now. Our students in the scientific project recently had the opportunity to not only look at this topic from a theoretical perspective, but also to exchange with a globally operating expert: The tool manufacturer Hilti allowed us to get a glimpse into a real business case.
The Hilti team talked about challenges and opportunities of digital transformation in the construction industry. In particular, we learned how Hilti makes use of Software as a Service (SaaS) to complement their physical products and broaden the product range. Using the example of Hilti On!Track, a software solution for warehouse management, we had a closer look at the use case and the creation of value with digital products.
